Kayo AU150 Semi-Automatic Quad Bike
150CC 4-STROKE. SEMI-AUTOMATIC. REVERSE. 3-SPEED GEARBOX. UTILITY ATV. 🏁🔥
The Kayo AU150 is a serious little utility ATV designed for riders who need more than just a recreational quad.
Developed by Kayo, from the manufacturers of Stomp Pit Bikes, the AU150 was designed over four years with a focus on durability, capability and off-road performance.
Powered by a 149.6cc air-cooled 4-stroke engine, the AU150 combines a semi-automatic transmission with reverse, hydraulic disc brakes, adjustable suspension and useful front and rear carrying racks.
It’s compact enough to work where a full-size ATV would simply be too large, while still providing the ground clearance, low-speed control and carrying capacity you’d expect from a proper utility quad.
Whether you’re using it around a smallholding, farm, private land or simply looking for a capable recreational ATV, the AU150 is built to work.

🔥 149.6cc 4-Stroke Engine
At the heart of the AU150 is a 149.6cc single-cylinder 4-stroke, air-cooled engine.
The engine uses a SOHC 2-valve configuration and is designed around a straightforward, serviceable mechanical package.
Kayo lists maximum power at:
5.8kW @ 7,500rpm
and maximum torque at:
8.3Nm @ 6,000rpm
The engine is deliberately suited to the AU150’s utility role, giving the quad useful low-speed control while providing enough capacity to tackle uneven ground, inclines and general private-land use.
⸻
⚙️ Semi-Automatic Transmission
The AU150 uses a semi-automatic transmission with reverse.
The gear selection is:
R → N → 1 → 2 → 3
This gives the rider considerably more control than a conventional fully automatic recreational quad while avoiding the need for a traditional manual clutch.
The rider can select lower gears when more control is required and move up through the three forward gears when travelling across more open terrain.
Reverse also makes manoeuvring around smallholdings, trailers, buildings and other confined areas considerably easier.
⸻
🔑 Electric Start
The AU150 uses electric start, making starting the quad straightforward.
The ignition system uses CDI, while the 4-stroke engine keeps the mechanical package relatively simple and serviceable.
This is particularly useful for a utility ATV that may be used regularly rather than simply being taken out for occasional recreational riding.
⸻
💥 Front & Rear Suspension
The AU150 features dedicated front and rear suspension designed around its utility ATV chassis.
Front
270mm suspension
Rear
280mm suspension
The suspension is designed to handle uneven ground and changing terrain while maintaining the compact dimensions of the AU150.
The current specification lists the front and rear suspension as non-adjustable.
⸻
🛑 Triple Hydraulic Disc Brakes
The AU150 comes equipped with three hydraulic disc brakes.
Hydraulic braking is fitted across the ATV’s braking system, giving the rider dedicated braking control rather than relying on basic drum brakes.
The hydraulic braking system is designed around the AU150’s 155kg dry weight and utility chassis.
As always, brakes should be checked before riding and maintained regularly.
⸻
🛞 10×9 Utility ATV Wheels
The AU150 uses 10×9 tyres front and rear.
The compact wheel setup works with the quad’s relatively high 140mm ground clearance, helping it remain manoeuvrable while tackling suitable off-road terrain.
The wheels and tyres are designed around the AU150’s utility-focused role rather than outright high-speed riding.
⸻
🧺 Front & Rear Carrying Racks
One of the AU150’s biggest differences compared with a conventional recreational quad is its utility equipment.
The quad features front and rear carrying racks, giving riders useful space for transporting equipment, tools and other items around private land.
The wrap-around plastics also provide additional protection from mud and debris while helping keep the rider covered when travelling across wet ground.
This makes the AU150 particularly suited to:
- Smallholdings
- Private land
- Farm use
- Maintenance work
- Moving tools and equipment
- General recreational utility use
⸻
🏗️ Compact Utility ATV Chassis
The AU150 was developed specifically as a compact utility ATV.
Its dimensions are approximately:
Length: 1,690mm
Width: 975mm
Height: 1,010mm
With a 1,080mm wheelbase, the AU150 remains considerably more compact than many full-size utility ATVs.
That makes it useful in areas where a larger ATV would be difficult to manoeuvre.
⸻
⛽ 5.5L Fuel Tank
The AU150 features a 5.5-litre fuel tank, providing useful fuel capacity for regular riding and utility work.
The 149.6cc 4-stroke engine is air-cooled and designed around straightforward servicing and maintenance.
As with any petrol ATV, regular oil checks, servicing and general mechanical inspections are essential.
⸻
📏 Compact Utility ATV Dimensions
The AU150 has an approximate:
Length: 1,690mm
Width: 975mm
Height: 1,010mm
Wheelbase: 1,080mm
Seat height: 740mm
Ground clearance: 140mm
Dry weight: 155kg
Fuel capacity: 5.5L
The 740mm seat height makes rider fit particularly important.
We recommend choosing an ATV based on rider height, weight, ability and experience, rather than age alone.
